Advice to students

The team can help you to:
  • disclose your disability to members of staff
  • set up disability support, for example, arrange for a note-taker in classes
  • set up alternative examination provision
  • apply for Disabled Students Allowance and other funding sources
  • arrange an assessment for dyslexia with an Educational Psychologist
  • set up study skills tuition if you have a specific learning difficulty.
The Disability Team also has a small supply of loan equipment available for use by disabled students.

Individual support plans

In consultation with the student, the Disability Team draws up an Individual Support Plan (ISP), which is a summary of support that you can expect from the University. The Plan belongs to you and with your permission will be passed to your Programme Leader.
